Purpose: To increase the number of African American Males with bachelor degrees.
Amount: $50,000
Summary: This grant will support planning for a national demonstration linking Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with P-12 public education partners to increase the number of African American males with bachelor degrees. During the six-month planning period, under the leadership of the Southern University System (SUS), the following activities will be completed: form a national advisory committee to assist with design and oversight; assemble a interdisciplinary team of faculty, researchers and service providers to develop the curriculum, teaching modules, selection criteria and outcome metrics; and research, identify and cultivate major gift prospects to support a five-year implementation phase.
