New appointments at Lumina Foundation 

INDIANAPOLIS -- Lumina Foundation for Education has announced two recent appointments.

Tim Legesse has been appointed as Director of Alternative Investments.

Legesse brings more than 13 years of experience in managing investments and alternative asset portfolios, including stints with the Indiana Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) in Indianapolis, PSINet Ventures LTD, in Northern Virginia's telecom alley, Minnesota Life in St. Paul, MN, Ohio Teachers in Columbus, OH and Capri Capital LLC, Chicago, IL and Morgan Stanley & Co, New York  Tim, a native of New Rochelle, New York, received his Masters of Business Administration from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California in Berkeley and his Bachelor of Science from St. John's University in Jamaica, New York.  He is a charter alumnus of the Robert A. Toigo Foundation's fellowship program at Cal.

Dollyne Pettingill Sherman has been appointed Director of Communications.  

Sherman brings 25 years of experience in public policy communication and media relations.  Previously, she served in a variety of roles in state and local government, including press secretary to former Indiana Governor Robert D. Orr and former Indianapolis mayor Stephen Goldsmith.

She started her own consulting firm in 1995, DS Consulting, where she served a variety of corporate and public sector clients where she provided strategic communications and public affairs services.

Sherman is a native of Indianapolis and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University.  She serves on the local Cable Franchise Board and the Board of Governors for the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series.
