Half of all bachelor’s degree earners from four-year public institutions take more than five academic years’ worth of active enrollment to finish their degree, says a new report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center. Another key trend cited in the report: Multiple institutions are part of a student’s college journey, with more than half of all students at public four-year universities attending two or more institutions.
