Arizona — the subject of this issue of Lumina Foundation Focus magazine — is one of seven states that received multi-year grants from Lumina to build national momentum for enhancing productivity in higher education to get the state back on track. Arizona is using a four-year, $1.5 million Lumina grant to scale up the state’s range of “no-frills” bachelor’s degrees to meet local and student needs, including joint community college/university programs, university centers, and baccalaureate campuses in high-demand areas.
