In 2023, Lumina Foundation launched The Great Admissions Redesign—a bold initiative aimed at transforming outdated, inequitable processes into streamlined, student-centered experiences. Today, two years into this ambitious effort, a national movement is gaining momentum.
For the second time, Lumina is seeking to work with states, systems, institutions, and groups of three or more colleges and/or universities ready to transform how potential students apply, enroll, and access higher education institutions. Applications for the Great Admissions Redesign challenge will open on September 30 and close on November 3, 2025. Lumina will consider proposals across three funding tiers: exploration, planning, and implementation.
