Many universities have started to align research efforts within departments to solve real-world problems. In order to do this, faculty members must be willing to work across academic specialties—something that higher education has often struggled with. This report provides positive and negative viewpoints of interdisciplinary work through stories and opinion articles that analyze how university research is changing.
