The United States has experienced a 77 percent jump in the number of associate degrees earned over the past decade and a 51 percent increase in bachelor’s degrees, says a report by Civic Enterprises and Everyone Graduates Center. The class of 2020 and beyond may, however, face challenges replicating these gains because of rapidly changing student demographics that will require both K-12 and higher education to adapt and provide better supports to the next generation of young people, the report notes.
