The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, which provides cash assistance and other supports to families experiencing poverty, has not had substantial updates in more than 20 years. This report calls for major changes to the program so that qualified individuals have access to the education and training they need to secure good jobs while also receiving essential supports for their families.
