Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in higher education require highly engaged, transparent, and intentional leadership in order to have a transformative and lasting impact on campus communities. This report explores the circumstances leading to the University of Missouri’s 2015-16 racial crisis and the institution’s response. Recommendations on creating a positive racial campus climate are included in the study’s findings.
