Older brothers and sisters typically yield influence over their younger siblings – and that includes where they attend college, reports this working paper from Harvard University and the College Board. The study, which analyzed 1.6 million pairs of siblings who took the SAT between 2004 and 2011, found that younger siblings are approximately 15 percent more likely to enroll in four-year schools or highly competitive colleges if their older siblings have already done so.
