Students who are low income, Black, or Latino in the state of New York are too often being funneled into pathways that are least aligned with attending college, states this report. The report also notes that first-generation students are more likely to wish they had received better preparation than those with college- educated parents. The study concludes with policy recommendations to improve educational equity and ensure high expectations for all groups of students.
