Using Lumina Foundation’s Name
Grantees must seek Lumina’s approval at least seven (7) working days prior to issuing a release that mentions Lumina.
On first reference, please use: “Lumina Foundation.” On subsequent references, you may use: “Lumina” or “the foundation.” Lumina’s style guide prohibits use of the article “the” before its proper name.
The foundation’s name should not be used in the headline of the news release unless it is a joint release with Lumina. However, our name may be used in a subheading.
Grantees of Lumina grantees, or subgrantees, may not use the foundation’s name in a manner that creates the impression that they are direct recipients of Lumina funds. Materials from subgrantees should be routed through the grantee for approval. Lumina’s approval must be sought prior to releases by grantees that mention the foundation.
At Lumina’s discretion, this disclaimer may be used: The views expressed in this publication are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent those of Lumina Foundation, its officers, or employees.
