Please join us at 3 – 4:00 pm EDT on Oct. 7 for Tackling Tenure: Part 1, the next conversation in our Equity First series. In this first webinar of two focusing on this issue, we will take a close look at how the academic promotion and tenure process has long-served as a structural and systemic barrier for many Black, Hispanic/Latino and Native American faculty members seeking to advance within the Academy. Academic leaders from two universities will discuss how they are addressing this issue by embedding meaningful, equity-focused criteria into the tenure process and supporting faculty who prioritize Equity First work. This important conversation will be facilitated by Dr. Danette Howard, Senior Vice President and Chief Policy Officer, and features:
- Jennifer King Rice, Ph.D. – Senior Vice President and Provost, University of Maryland
- Jennifer Thorington Springer, Ph.D. – Associate Dean and Provost, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)
