COVID-19 and its economic and educational fallout have had a disproportionate impact on communities of color and have highlighted and exacerbated longstanding racial and ethnic inequities in the U.S. The impact on college-going among Hispanic students has been especially concerning. Before COVID-19, college enrollment among Hispanic students was on the rise (with Latinas, in particular, making major strides and outpacing Latinos when it comes to earning college degrees).
