Investing in programs to improve students’ interpersonal experiences on campus may be a key strategy in closing gaps in opportunity and outcomes by race/ethnicity and class. This brief from the Community College Research Center describes the importance of non-academic staff to the student experience and presents initial findings related to the Caring Campus initiative’s capacity to impact college culture and ground further change efforts.
