Dual-enrollment programs are on the rise, and many education advocates view these efforts as an important stepping stone to postsecondary access and completion. But not all students are taking advantage of dual enrollment. Black and Hispanic students, as well as students whose parents have only a high school diploma or dropped out, are less likely to participate in dual-enrollment classes.
