A First Look at Food and Housing Insecurity Among Student-Athletes

Student-athletes compete in school and on the field. They are often full-time students and full-time athletes, making it challenging to manage their time, health, and finances. A new survey documents incidents of food and housing insecurity, even homelessness, among student-athletes. Two-year college athletes are more likely to experience food insecurity and homelessness than athletes at four-year colleges and universities, the survey says. More than 3,506 student-athletes participated in the study.
