Over the past decade, research on the benefits of a college degree and the economic consequences of the Great Recession have galvanized policymakers, advocates, and higher education leaders to increasingly focus on postsecondary attainment.  A new working paper examines the relationship between increased attainment of two- and four-year college degrees and state revenues and expenses. The report builds on prior work that details states’ approaches to and progress toward meeting their attainment goals.
