Current teacher talent pipelines are deficient to meet students’ and schools’ needs and demands, suggests a report from the American Enterprise Institute. Reforming teacher certification laws to allow and empower individuals from diverse backgrounds—with different work experience and community ties—to enter the teacher workforce can help address teacher shortages, the report states.
