The notion that online education courses cost less to produce and save students money on tuition may not be accurate, states this report from WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies. The survey shows that more than half (54.2 percent) of the distance education providers surveyed said distance students pay more than on-campus students when tuition and fees are added. About three-quarters (75.1 percent) of institutions who completed the study indicated tuition was the same, but that added fees resulted in the price to students of distance courses being more.
