Statement from Jamie Merisotis

Remarks on the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative

“Recognizing that educational success in the U.S. remains uneven and populations that historically have been and remain underserved must succeed for a strong economy and society, Lumina Foundation has partnered with other philanthropic leaders to address the needs of boys and men of color. We believe they are critical to achieving Goal 2025, which is that by 2025, 60% of all Americans possess a high-quality postsecondary degree, certificate or credential. As a part of the philanthropic leaders within The Executives’ Alliance to Expand Opportunities for Boys and Men of Color, we have that shared conviction to ensure that all boys and men of color enjoy full opportunity and inclusion. We’re proud to play a role in this Alliance.”       - Lumina Foundation President & CEO, Jamie P. Merisotis
