Obama's pay-as-you-earn program will reduce student loan payments for 1.6M Americans but won't solve every student's debt problem

Outstanding student loans debt is projected to reach $1 trillion before the end of the year. With tuition rates growing faster than inflation the Obama administration unveiled a student loan plan to offer relief. Lumina Foundation’s Jamie Merisotis tells NPR’s Claudio Sanchez the Obama plan is a step in the right direction but doen’t go far enough to address problems of college pricing and affordability.
