Lumina President and CEO Jamie Merisotis introduced the nation’s first Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence at the Aspen Institute on April 25. The $1M prize will recognize community colleges with outstanding academic and workforce outcomes to help meet the nation’s postsecondary achievement goals.

The community college prize winners must demonstrate that students in their schools (1) gain knowledge and skills; (2) complete degree or certificate programs; and (3) obtain jobs with competitive wages. The Aspen Prize is a joint effort between the Aspen Institute, the Joyce Foundation, Lumina Foundation and the charitable foundations of Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase. Learn more »
