When the University Innovation Alliance (UIA) first announced a bold ambition of getting more universities to share ideas to help them improve college access, it was met with skepticism. 

Fast forward five years. By examining and rethinking areas of the institution that could be improved with better data, more information-sharing and, in some cases, the help of technology, UIA schools are on track to graduate an additional 94,000 students by 2025. 

Bridget Burns of the UIA explains how the group is finding common ground and what other schools can learn.

‘We Want Them to Finish’: Veterans Get Dedicated Space at Community College of Denver

After serving in the military, some veterans struggle to make the transition from combat to the classroom. A new dedicated space at the Community College of Denver aims to offer some much-needed support to help them earn a degree or further their education.

The Veterans Services Center will provide student-veterans with one-on-one advising, access to campus resources, veteran-specific orientation, and a place to connect with other student-veterans.
