STRATEGY OFFICER FOR MILITARY-BASED LEARNING
Lauren Runco is Lumina's strategy officer for military-based learning. She joins us from the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University where she served as the director of education and employment. Lauren spent the last 10 years working on issues related to the nation’s military workforce and their transitions to civilian education and employment, by working with employers, workforce agencies, and higher education institutions.
Of particular note is her attention in these spaces to focus on women and people of color, making her a sought-after voice in higher education and the workforce. Lauren served as the founding director of the Office of Military and Veteran Services at Marywood University, was a veterans affairs certifying official, led the national Veteran Knowledge Community for NASPA, and received the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service. Lauren earned her master's in higher education administration from Marywood University and her bachelor's in international studies from The University of Scranton.
